Immersive attractions and interactive experiences, built in Malaysia

Kiranamaya is a Malaysian immersive experience studio. We design, build and operate interactive attractions for museums, science centres, venue owners and brands, using projection mapping, LED, motion tracking, AR and AI.

Based in Kuala Lumpur and Kuching, we work throughout Malaysia, including Sarawak and Sabah, and into the wider region.

What we build

Our work combines light, projection, sound, architecture and interactivity. We create original attractions we own and operate, custom installations for clients, and modular interactions for events, set up in each client’s branding.

Projection mapping and LED installations

Large-scale projection and LED work that responds to visitors, like the custom LED sphere we built for Planetarium Negara.

Interactive displays

Displays that respond to touch, sound and motion, including full-body games tracked by a single webcam.

VR, AR and AI

Augmented reality that runs in a phone’s browser, VR rooms, and AI characters that visitors can talk to.

Who we work with

Pick the one that fits and go straight to a short project brief.

  • Museums and knowledge centres

Add immersive exhibits without breaking existing contracts: modular pilots, AR and AI layers, and full exhibit upgrades.

    Plan an exhibit project
  • Venue owners and developers

Ticketed attractions designed to run for years, with partnership models from co-ownership to IP licensing and revenue share.

    Plan an attraction
  • Brands and event organisers

Modular interactions set up in your branding, from motion-tracked games to AI photobooths that collect guest details with consent.

    Plan an activation
  • Schools and universities

Technology and immersive-media programmes for learners from primary school to university, run as recurring programmes.

  • Still at the idea stage

Our consultation covers experience strategy, concept development and attraction planning, and is often the first step toward a deeper partnership.

Working with knowledge centres

Knowledge centres want immersive exhibits. Long-term contracts get in the way.

What we’ve learned about how museums, science centres and cultural institutions update their exhibits.

Contracts of five years or more
Multi-year engagements give incumbent vendors continuity, but they shut knowledge centres out of partnerships with newer organisations offering new immersive technology.
Exclusivity clauses that freeze exhibits
Exclusivity gives incumbents stability, but the processes attached to it stop exhibits from being altered or updated except for maintenance, leaving little room to respond to visitor demand and market trends.
Pilots as the workaround
Internal teams fund small proofs of concept from discretionary budgets. These sit within existing spaces and leave the main exhibit untouched: agility without breaching contracts.

Where we fit in

We’re set up to work within these constraints, not against them.

Maya Moments
Small, modular interactions such as Hornbill Flight and Superbooth, which can be set up for an event without touching the main exhibit.
AR and AI experiences
Experiences visitors open on their own phones, adding a new layer to a visit without altering existing exhibits.
Consultation
Strategic advice for institutions planning their move into immersive attractions, often the first step toward a deeper design, build or IP partnership.

From concept to operation

Storytelling, technology, design and operations sit under one team, so one partner is accountable from the first idea to long-term operation.

  1. Concept and storytelling

We start from what people should feel and remember.

  2. Spatial design

Visitor flow, hospitality and maintenance are designed in from day one.

  3. Build and technology integration

Construction, hardware, software and content come together under one team.

  4. Operation and optimisation

We plan operations whether an experience runs for years or for a weekend.

Our approach

Attractions built to last, not just to launch.

Malaysia’s immersive companies largely work project to project, while the most successful players worldwide have moved to long-term, IP-owned attractions. That’s the model we’re building: immersive attractions we design, own and operate as long-term businesses.

Questions we’re often asked

What does Kiranamaya do?

Kiranamaya is a Malaysian immersive experience studio based in Kuala Lumpur and Kuching. We design, build and operate immersive attractions and create interactive installations for museums, science centres, venue owners, brands and learning institutions, using projection mapping, LED, motion tracking, AR, VR and AI.

Do you work in Sarawak and Sabah?

Yes. We’re based in Kuala Lumpur and Kuching, and we work throughout Malaysia, including Sarawak and Sabah, and into the wider region. Because we own both the creative concept and the technology platform, our experiences can be set up and redeployed across venues and territories.

Can a museum add immersive exhibits without replacing its main exhibit?

Yes. Modular interactions like Hornbill Flight and Superbooth can be set up for an event without touching the main exhibit, and AR and AI experiences run on visitors’ own phones without altering existing exhibits. Many institutions start with a small pilot funded from a discretionary budget.

How much does an immersive experience cost?

It depends on scale, duration, content and whether the experience is temporary, touring or permanent, so a modular event activation and a permanent attraction are very different projects. Tell us what you’re planning in a short project brief and we’ll come back with options that fit.

Do your AR experiences need an app?

No. Our AR experiences, such as Dinosaur Encyclopedia and Solar System AR, run in the browser on iPhone and Android, so there is nothing to install.

Does Hornbill Flight record players?

No video ever leaves the machine. A webcam reads each player’s pose on the spot to steer the hornbill, so no controller is needed.

Can we license or co-own a Kiranamaya attraction?

Yes. Partnership models for Kirana Originals include owned or co-owned ticketed attractions, multi-year IP licensing and revenue share.

Let’s talk about what we could build for your space or your next event.

We partner with venue owners and institutions building enduring attractions for culture, learning and immersive storytelling, and with brands that want interactive moments at their events.
